Front of House for Golden Age
We need some front of house staff for some nights of the current production The Golden Age. The nights needed are 16, 22, 23, 27 and 29 October.
It’s pretty easy work. Sell tickets, take tickets, profit!

2011 Season Submissions

The Old Nick Company invites all Directors, Writers and other interested parties to propose productions to be presented as part of the Old Nick 2011 season.
Old Nick is Tasmania’s premiere amateur theatre company, and has a proud history of works ranging from classical to contemporary, major touring shows to readings of new works.
Submissions may range from major productions to emerging locally written or devised works.

The cast is currently rehearsing Old Nick’s next production, Louis Nowra’s The Golden Age.
This will be presented at the Peacock Theatre, and tickets will be available soon from Centertainment.

Beautiful Thing Opening
Just a reminder that Beautiful Thing opens at the Peacock tomorrow night (16 July). Booking details are on the show page, and, if the dress rehearsals are anything to go by, this is a show not to be missed.

OneFest 2010: Call for crew

The Old Nick Company and Hobart Repertory Theatre Society are staging OneFest 2010, a festival of one-act plays, on August 27-28 at the Playhouse Theatre in Hobart.
We are looking for people to work on the show in the role of Stage Manager, Backstage, Front of House, Bar or Lighting and Audio. If you’re interested and available, email the Old Nick Secretary.
Beautiful Thing – Director’s Update
Glenn Braithwaite, director of Old Nick’s next production Beautiful Thing, has sent though some info on how things are going:
I would like to thank all the actors who auditioned for Old Nick’s production of “Beautiful Thing” by Jonathan Harvey. The following actors have been cast in the show.
- Cambell McKenzie as Jamie
- Benjamin Winckle as Ste
- Jessica Davies as Leah
- Clare Gray as Sandra
- Rowan Harris as Tony
We recently had confirmation that this production will be the first production of “Beautiful Thing” in Tasmania.
Rehearsals began on May 11th at Lettitia St. headquarters and are running well. Cast and crew are having a great time and some wonderful and funny moments are being captured by our small and talented cast. We will soon have our poster up and out there, so keep a lookout. Centertainment is our booking/ticket agent, so if people want to book for the show you only need to pop in, get onto their webpage, or phone (03) 6234 5998. Tickets are available NOW! Door sales will be available on the night at the Peacock Theatre, Salamanca Arts Centre, as long as the show is not sold out. We only have 135 seats available for each performance. Ticket costs are $25 adult and $20 concession.
